3. Simple Past (الماضي البسيط)
يستخدم الماضي البسيط:
للتحدث عن اعمال قام بها شخص ما في زمن الماضي.
Use of Simple Past….
We use Simple Past to talk about actions in the past.
For example:
I studied hard yesterday.

(V2 = Regular verb or Irregular verb)

Add (ed) or (d) to most verbs in past
Use = used talk = talked
Verb ends in Consonant + y
Change ( y ) to ( i ) and add ed
study = studied apply = applied
Verb ends in Vowel + w, x or y
(vowels = a, i, u, o, e)
Only add (ed) fix = fixed
play = played follow = followed
One syllable verb ends in consonant after vowel
Double the consonant and add (ed)
stop = stopped shop = shopped
