2 In English the sentences have a subject and a verb.
The subject is the noun (person or thing) that is being described or is doing something. The verb is the action word like “run”, “sing”, or “am, is, are”. subject verb Mrs. Garcia is a teacher. She is from Madrid.

3 In Spanish the sentences also have a subject and a verb.
subject verb La Sra. Garcia es mi profesora. Ella es de Madrid.

4 Both English and Spanish use nouns as subjects.
Nouns can be replaced by pronouns. You already know él, ella, tú, and usted. Ex. Berenice es mi mejor amiga. Ella es mi mejor amiga. Ella stands for Berenice

5 English sentences always have a subject
English sentences always have a subject. But in Spanish the subject or the subject pronoun can be left out if everyone knows what you’re talking about. Ex. Martin is my friend. Martin es mi amigo. He is from Spain. Es de España. él can be left out
