2 Adjectives An adjective is a word that describes a noun. Adjectives tell what kind or how many. Adjectives may be written before the noun they describe or after a linking verb.

3 Adverbs Adverbs describe verbs. They tell how, when, or where something happens. Most adverbs that tell how end in ly. Adverbs are not always written near the verbs they describe.
