Discuss 3 things about flowers using qualitative or quantitative words

3 Essential Question ? What are some of the structures plants use for reproduction?

4 Structures for Reproduction
Parts of the flowering plant that function in reproduction include: Flowers Flowers produce seeds. Many flowers contain both male and female parts needed to produce new flowers.

5 Flowers Flower petals are often colorful or have a scent to attract insects and other animals.

6 Parts of a flower Stamen – Male Part of Flower (think men and male).

8 Parts of a flower Pistil The female part of the flower that contains

12 Seeds The ovule contains the fertilized egg (embryo) which turns into a seed. A fruit is formed from the ovary which protects the seeds. Seeds have special structures that allow them to be dispersed by wind, water or animals.

18 Interactive Online Activity
We will start this lab together. You will complete the journal and data table and submit them for a daily grade. Finished? Fun game to play about flowers and pollinators.
