The School Week 2 week timetable
All students must attend tutor time All students study 3 qualifications (or the equivalent), some may have extras such as EPQ. Each subject has 9 teaching hours per fortnight. EPQ has 4 hours. Some students may be resitting GCSE English/Maths. There is no such thing as a ‘free’ or a ‘blank’, when students are not in a timetabled lesson they should be attending directed study (this must be in school). Students are not permitted to leave the sixth form before period 4 on any day. If students have directed study period 5 and are not on any type of full time study or other compulsory attendance then they are allowed to leave at the end of period 4.

Enrichment – Mrs Coulman Head of Year
16
Enrichment Enrichment gives your child an opportunity to try something new alongside their studies & to give something back to the school/staff/students. Some enrichment may be for fun, for social reasons, others may be to support personal statements or CVs. Starting 7th October, students are expected to complete 2 hours per week. We advise that 1 hour is academic mentoring and 1 hour something more non-academic such as an online courses, sport, Gold D of E, School production, film club, sixth form magazine, student voice etc. Students have cards to record & track their enrichment.

27
BTEC Advice “BTEC subjects require a great deal of commitment and independent study, both in the classroom and in directed study and at home. Deadlines HAVE to be met, failure to do so will mean that they can only get a Pass at best for that assignment. There is no re-submission opportunity if deadlines are missed. Also BTEC’s now have an externally examined unit now. BTEC’s are not an easy option”.
