By using multiple devices such as mobile phones, tablets etc. and by using different applications which are effortlessly available, people connect with one another and interact with a wealth of information. When these people are also employees, they carry expectations of this productive interactivity and information access with them, into the workplace. Not that long ago, people's most sophisticated computing experience was at work, and computing was limited at home. Now, in most cases, the opposite is true. Its use to be that the tools you use at work (Communicating, the use of devices, access to information) was limited to the work hours. Now, you use the same tools at work and after at the work hours. I access the same applications at work and at home. The consumerization of IT is a result of the availability of excellent devices, interfaces and applications with minimal learning curves. With a “on click” you access information, preform activities where not long ago where not available easily. These devices — especially smartphones and tablets — and their application ecosystems are what we call “ready-to-hand," meaning that they fit the tasks and intentions of the user without getting in the way. And the UC&C platform should allow just that. Allow users to access the wealth of application easily. IT Another very imported aspect of why there is a need for a new UC platform is the fact that IT managers are taking over the communication needs of organizations…and their expectation are different. It Managers do not have the time to deal with a complex solution. They are looking for a solution that will be easy and simple to maintain. Expandable so they can add locations and devices without changing core application. It MUST be reliable. They re used to equipment that never fails. And it must be scalable, so they will not need to replace an entire infrastructure when they add more resources (user, phones, applications) Aeonix being a platform of applications and that has all those special features (simplicity, expendability, reliability and scalability) is the perfect choice for a new UC platform.
