21 Nurse’s Notes Please notify the nurse if your child has any medical conditions or food allergies. Remember to send in any necessary paperwork such as physical forms or immunization reports prior to August 1st. If your child gets injured at home and has a cast or any activity restrictions please get a note from the doctor.

22 Medication The Nurse cannot dispense medication to students unless it has been prescribed by a physician AND with written approval of the parent/guardian. Medication must be in the prescribed container for your child. All medication is administered and kept in the Health Office. Please do not send any medication with your child, Medication should only change hands between adults for the safety of all.

23 Food In the Classroom SNACKS
Monday through Friday SMALL NUTRITIONAL snack from home Students should be able to open their own container/packaging 22 students with 1 adult Snack: IN ITS OWN LABELED BAG or CONTAINER EVERYTHING must be labeled with your child’s first and last name Kindergarten classes are peanut-free, our cafeteria is not.

25 Lost and Found Please clearly label EVERYTHING with your student’s first and last name and room number (with a black Sharpie). The lost and found is located in the cafeteria. The PTA will regularly lay out the contents of the Lost & Found at meetings. Due to limited space, the Lost & Found is cleaned every month or two. If your student has lost an item, please be sure to check the Lost & Found prior to the end of the month. It is the parents’ responsibility to check the Lost & Found

26 Miscellaneous Information
“OOPS” Policy From time to time, students may have an “accident” while at school Please send a FULL change of clothes in a gallon-sized ziploc bag. Make sure to label it with your student’s full name. Parties Halloween, Winter, End of the Year Parties are celebrated by kindergarten students in their classrooms. Two parents may attend per class to help set-up and support students during the party.

28 Driving and Parking Safety is #1!!!!
Follow all traffic and pedestrian laws. Don’t make u-turns in driveways or intersections Follow all posted speed limit and parking signs and go slowly Don’t double park Do not park in the School Bus Zone (front of school) Give yourself plenty of time - you may need to walk a block or two to campus Be mindful of our neighbors Do not block their driveways, play in their front yards, move their garbage cans or litter

29 Morning Drop-Off “Commuter” drop-off is available on Kingston Road (front of school) Please pull forward and allow staff to assist you NO PARKING in commuter lane or on Kingston Road! ! ! When one car parks in the commuter lane, the entire system stops Student supervision begins at 8:40 am on the Playground, we ask that a parent or older sibling attend to Kindergartners If you will be walking your student to school, please be aware of restricted bus lanes and traffic signs when you park your car Students line up by their classroom doors (Doors 11 & 12) in the morning

30 What if I’m late to school?
Classroom instruction begins at 9:00 am. Line up by 8:50 - teachers bring students in at 8:55 Students are marked “late” to school if they arrive after the bell rings Parents must escort students to the Front Office if they are late and sign them in Students will not be admitted into the classroom without a tardy slip from the office Please give yourself plenty of time in the morning

31 Pick-Up From School Safety is #1!!!!
If you are picking up your child after school, teachers walk their students to the outside doors and wait in the doorway. If you are carpooling or picking up other children, you need to have written permission from those children’s parents or guardians If there is a change to the typical routine, parents should either call the front office an hour before school ends or have their children bring a note with them to school (NO EXCEPTIONS).

32 Transportation Letters will be sent home about a week or so prior to school starting with details about transportation (route #, pick up and drop off locations, times, etc.) All students must wear seat belts on the bus. Please practice with your child (if possible) learning how to buckle and unbuckle lap belts. A parent/guardian/older sibling must be present to receive the child at the bus stop; otherwise, the child will be returned to his/her school.

33 First Day of School Be sure your child’s teacher knows how he or she will be getting home Please use the name tag enclosed in your child’s welcome letter on the first day of school
