5 Arrival Procedures  School begins at 8:50 a.m.  Safety patrol and adult supervision begins at 8:30 a.m.  Students arriving after 8:50 a.m. will be marked tardy. They should check into the office before coming to the classroom to pick up a late slip.  Please do not enter the classrooms before 8:50 a.m.

6 Dismissal Procedures  Dismissal begins at 3:05 p.m.  Safety patrols will walk bus riders to their busses.  Car riders and walkers will be dismissed at the kiss and ride door. Caretakers should wait outside the school for their child at 3:05.  Bar-T children will be picked up by a teacher from the classroom during the first weeks of school.

7 Leaving School  If your child will be leaving school any other way than the usual departure method we must have a note from you.  If it’s an emergency situation call the office.  Students will not be allowed to accompany friends on a different bus without your written permission.  You must sign your child out in the office if he/she leaves school early.  If your child is going home with another student in the class or school, both students must have a note.

8 Lunch  Kindergarten recess is at 11:10 a.m. Lunch is from 11:40 to 12:10 p.m. Children may buy or bring a healthy lunch.  Kindergarten students buying lunch will only be offered the regular lunch choice.  Lunch may be paid for through the school debit system. A check may be made out to the cafeteria directly.

9 School Supplies  Your child will need to bring a back-pack and folder to school each day.  These supplies will be helpful to have for home use:  Crayons  Glue  Pencils  Scissors  Additional classroom supply donation lists will be given out by individual teachers.

10 Birthdays  If you would like to send in a treat to honor your child’s birthday please let the teacher know in advance. Birthdays will be celebrated during lunch in the cafeteria.  All food items must be store bought and in individual packages to avoid food allergies.

11 H ealth Information  Student medications and medical notes must be given to the school nurse. Teachers can not administer medicine to students. This also includes applying sunscreen.  If your child cannot participate during outdoor recess due to a medical condition, a doctor’s note must be given to the secretary.  If your child is sick, please keep him/her at home.

23 What will we do when they already know it?

24  Students work at their instructional reading level  Accelerated activities in math  Computer enrichment activities (reading, writing, and math)

25 Conferences/ Report Cards  Kindergarten conferences are scheduled once a year. If you would like a conference at any other time during the year, please send a note to the teacher.  Kindergarten report cards are sent home twice a year. The first one is in February and then again in June.

26 Teacher Contact Information  Send a note.  Call the school.  Send any notes to the teacher or other school information via the folder.  If the note is extra important, pin it to your child.

27 Important Dates  Friday, August 27- SNEAK PEEK! 2:00-3:00. Bring your child to meet their teacher and sneak-a-peek at your classroom.  August 30- First Day of School!!!! See you at 8:45 a.m.

28 Odds and Ends  Have your child wear his/her bus tag the first week of school. Also put the bus number on the back- pack.  Make sure all your child’s belongings are labeled with his/her name.  Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather, specials and outdoor recess play.  Please place all money and corresponding forms for projects, field trips, etc. in an envelope with your child’s name, the teacher’s name and the activity written clearly on the envelope.
