Chan / Linac Project Management Ratcliffe / Installation Manager Greg Diaz (MFD) / Field Installation R.F. Boyce / BC2 Area Design and Integration Phil Cutino / L3 Design and Integration / Linac Water Upgrades Karen Chan-Hui and Lori Shewchuk / LCLS CF Ponciano Rodriguez / Cable Installation Bob Fuller / Controls Checkout

4 Installation Objectives
Install, Check out, and Control all components and systems from BC2 thru L3 Beamline components represented by Emma’s current MAD Deck All other that is necessary for safe and reliable commissioning Water, Vacuum, AC Power, Air, Purge Gas, RF Systems Safety Systems Radiation Shielding, BCS, MPS, and PPS

5 Overall Schedule P3 consistent with AD Downtime Schedule
Start Date 9/4/07 End Date 12/3/07 Schedule Considerations: Hardware availability Davis Bacon / Cable Pulling PPS Certification Linac/Damping Rings/E+/CIC/LCLSI/BSY Estimated 11/5/07 thru 11/9/07 day shift and Estimated 11/12/07 thru 11/16/07 day shift Rolling Power Outages General Laboratory Resources

6 Special Conditions Limited 2 Shift Operations Aggressive Schedule for BC2 area de-installation No allowance for schedule drift Temporary lighting during rolling power outages Equipment needs to move from sector 19 down to sectors 24 thru 29

13 Documentation Status BC2 installation drawings

14 Documentation Status L3 Status
Integration Engineers – Phil Cutino and Richard F. Boyce One designer is currently working on BC2 and two designers on L3 design Completed PDR on 12/19/2006 FDR on July 13, 2007 Completed preliminary installation drawings Completed all waveguide designs for Linac and request have been submitted to MFD (except long waveguides which were made in 2006)

15 Documentation Status Typical installation drawings (sector 25-2)

16 Product Assurance & Safety
Following safety documents are required prior to installation or operation Safety Overview Approval Work authorization approval from LCLS and AD Penetration permits Earthquake approvals Building inspection approvals Electric safety approvals RP approvals Non-ionizing approvals

17 Safety Overview Committee Approval

18 Issues and Concerns 2007 Downtime Installation
2007 downtime 10 weeks vs downtime 17 weeks Reconfiguring 13 Linac girders vs. 3 in 2006 More waveguides in Linac housing to be installed Longer distance for equipment hatch to areas of installation Davis Bacon Linac installations maybe competing with LTU installations Water work less than 2006 installation Hardware and cable installations co-habitat same area Not much time for control to check out hardware
