Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson

2 Background Information
By going to war with Spain and acquiring overseas possessions, President McKinley has set the stage for a more aggressive foreign policy. The next three presidents – Roosevelt, Taft and Wilson – pursued their own policies, but all gave the United States a great role in world affairs.

4 Read about your assigned president’s policy and complete the graphic by adding at least 3 key points of information about the policy.

5 SHARE WITH 2 OTHERS Once you have completed your graphic you will need to find someone in class who completed the other 2 graphics and ask them for the points they added about their president’s policy.

11 US Foreign Policy 1st – You and your partner will be assigned one of the locations on handout 2nd - You will need to read about your country and complete the graphic on your handout. Adding 4 key ideas to the country diagram about US foreign policy in that location. 3rd – You and your partner will create 2 metaphors to represent US foreign policy in that location. One from the perspective of the US and other from the perspective of the country.

As you read about your country together you will create a metaphor to represent the perspective of the US and the other country You will need to write these metaphors on the handout.
