Decrease your appetite Variety of cardiovascular problems, including rapid heart rate and increased blood pressure Hyperthermia and convulsions may occur with methamphetamine overdose and if not treated immediately it can result in death

4 Regional Statistics A survey showed that there are no reports of methamphetamine use in Lenawee county.

5 National Statistics According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health approximately 1.2 million people (0.4 percent of the population) reported using methamphetamine in the past year.

6 Form of addiction The forms of addiction are Physical and psychological. Meth acts on the brain hours longer than most stimulants, increasing the risk of paranoia, hallucinations, and other persistent psychotic symptoms. It can also cause decay to the teeth.

9 Fun Facts It is sniffed, injected, smoked, or swallowed and its effects vary with the mode of use It is usually in the form of a white, odorless, bitter-tasting crystalline powder. Meth was invented in 1887 when scientists isolated ephedrine from a shrub- Ephedra sinica, known to be used in Chinese medicines in the past. Chemists manufactured methamphetamine in 1919 by combining ephedrine with red phosphorous and iodine.
