I.A.N. - Annotations Open your I.A.N. to page 49 and review the Annotations Key. You will need to be very familiar with this key to make annotations as we read. Number the paragraphs of this article in the right margin. You should have a total of 20 paragraphs. Turn In Now: If you took the following items home for homework, submit them now: “Writing a Narrative” worksheet (from yesterday) S.B. pages: 4, 10-11, 14

Standard: ELASE6RL2 – Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments. Learning Targets: Define the concept of change through the reading of a narrative. Apply understanding of narrative elements to reading and writing.

NewsELA Article – Fidget Spinners By yourself, silently read the article, “Fidget Toys are Banned in Schools for Causing Too Many Class Disruptions”. Be sure to annotate the text as you read! Number the paragraphs of this article in the right margin. You should have a total of 20 paragraphs.

NewsELA Mini. Quiz Use the text to help you answer the questions. Your annotations may help you locate the answers! Next to questions 1-4, write the number of the paragraph where you found your answer. For the writing response, be sure to write at least five or more complete sentences. Submit your quiz to the H.W. bin today! Keep the reading packet. If you finish early, you must read. The ½ sheet for your reading is due next Friday!
