Objective: Students will be able to analyze textual evidence of characters’ adversities and overcoming adversities. Agenda Do Now: Turn and talk with your tablemates. Captains will share with the whole class. Discussion/Sharing: Students will share their analysis of the textual evidence from their assigned chapter (16, 17 or 18) How can I create stronger analysis? A guide from The University of Michigan is offered to the students. Vocabulary List #2 (from The Scarlet Letter) introduced. Reflections: What important lessons did we learn from analyzing textual evidence? How were we able to improve our analytical skills today?
