Webropol – getting started 7
Collecting responses

Having set up your survey you are now ready to publish it, distribute it and start collecting responses. There are two ways to distribute your survey. As a private link sent out via to specified individuals, or as a web link that can be sent out via , or placed on an Intranet/Internet site

With the private link you need to put in (or import) the address of those that are going to receive the survey. Each person will then get a unique weblink. This is used if you have a known group and want to be able to chase/remind them to fill in the survey, as the system will be able to report of who has or hasn’t filled it in.

You can arrange a schedule of reminders to people who haven’t filled in your survey either when you first set up your survey or nearer the survey completion date. The reminders will only go to those people who haven’t filled in the survey. You can only do this if you used the “Private registration link” as the system will have the list of who the survey was sent out to From the Collect Answers - survey screen click here to see further options To activate the reminders click “Schedule (Forthcoming Schedules)” The choose “Create schedule”

Click on “send reminder”
You can set it so the reminder is only sent out once or by clicking the down arrow next to “Once” you can send the reminder on multiple specified dates

Fill in the mandatory fields including who the survey reminder will be sent to.

Having filled in all the details – including the text of your reminder message, just “Create Schedule”. This will then send out your reminder to all those how haven’t filled in the survey on the dates/times that you’ve specified.

The public web link is used if you don’t know the addresses of those filling in the survey, or if you are going to distribute the link by a general , or place it on a Internet/Intranet page. This is the more common way of distributing a survey. Once you have opened the survey you will be able to edit question text and add questions, but not delete or move questions or options. You also can’t change the skip logic easily.

Once the web link has been activated you can copy and paste it into an or onto an Intranet/Internet site. Use the “View in browser” to see what those registering will get. You can schedule the registration to it only activates after a certain date To close your survey, just go back into “Collect answers” and Deactivate the Web link
