2 Directions Have your story checked by a member of your group.
Write “corrected by: <your name>” somewhere on the page where you have room to write notes. Title each section & Answer any questions asked in complete sentences under your name.

3 Foundation Does it give a background to the story being told?
Does the background belong to the story being told?

4 Story Is there a story being told? Is the story told well? Explain.

5 Importance These Personal Statements are supposed to be stories that defines who they are. Explain what the author is trying to say about their character through their story. Is it explained well? Explain. Can you tell which prompt they wrote about? If so, which one? Did they write about it well?

6 Was it… Handwritten? In three paragraphs?
Given a correct heading and title? Written in black or blue ink? Persuasive?

7 What’s good? Explain three things that you thought were good in their essay.

8 What needs work? Give and explain three recommendations on three parts of their personal statement that can use work.

9 Done? When a personal statement was checked, give it back to the author. Authors: Consider the notes made for you, and rewrite your story into rough draft 2. Have Rough Draft 2 typed & ready to be checked by next time.

10 If the grader did not finish,
The author may finish it with a green pen. Consider the responses to the questions, and rewrite your story into Personal Statement Rough Draft 2. Have Personal Statement Rough Draft 2 typed & ready to be checked by next time.
