3 Nouns have many possible roles in a sentence:
Subject The dancer is impressive. Direct object (who or what in response to the verb) The doctor scolded the dancer for not taking his advise. Indirect Object (to or for whom the action is done) The teacher gave the dancer an award. Predicate nominative She is a dancer. Object of the preposition I brought flowers for the dancer.

4 Scapegoat Zealot Use each in a sentence; however, you may not use each noun in the same way. For example, you may not use both words as the subject of the sentence.

5 A verb is an action word or a state of being word
A verb is an action word or a state of being word. Some verbs can stand alone. Other verbs need an object.

6 Mary dances. His speech rejuvenated (what/whom do you rejuvenate?).

7 His speech rejuvenated the losing team.

12 Rewrite the sentences for alienate, desecrate and peruse without using infinitives. Keep the central idea of the sentence, ignoring only minor points. Example: Pretend the sentence read as follows: I took time to rejuvenate the crowd with my humor and enthusiasm. Revision: I rejuvenated the crowd with my humor and enthusiasm.
