Formative Performance Task 1 SUBSTITUTION What geographical features attracted French and Spanish Settlements in Louisiana? Description of Formative Performance Task: You will review geographical vocabulary and geographical features of Louisiana. Steps : Students will log on to a computer or have access to an iPAD and go to the web address below. Students will click on the match icon and play the game during class. You will be timed on this portion, you will have 10 minutes to complete this activity. If you are not successful at the end of the 10 minutes, then I will see your during RTI to revisit these vocabulary words you have not mastered! Description of Formative Performance Task: You will be taking a Kahoot quiz on the French colonization in Louisiana. Steps : As you enter the classroom make sure you grab an iPad off of the front table. Open up Safari and go to the website: The code for this quiz is on my board, please enter it to start the quiz. After you enter the answer for each question you will get immediate feedback, this will help me determine if you have mastered this material and are ready to move on! Good luck! Kahoot! Summative Performance Task 1 MODIFICATION What geographical features attracted French and Spanish Settlements in Louisiana? Description of Summative Performance Task: You will be creating a Google Slide Presentation about Spanish settlements and what geographical features attracted them to Louisiana. Steps Students will be previously broken into groups of three. Go to the following link: Begin by reading through the slide presentation. Each slide will have different information that your group will be required to investigate and analyze. With your partners being gathering the information that you would like to include on each slide. You can use different sources to find your information (your text book, primary documents) If your slide requires a picture you can search for an image using google search engine. Your grade will be reflected on how well you followed the instructions given to you from the slideshow. Description of Summative Performance Task: You will be evaluating another groups Google Slide Presentation using the Rubric you will be given. Steps Having already created your own Google Slide Presentation, your group will now be viewing and editing another groups presentation. Starting on the second slide your group will be responsible for giving feedback. On each slide in the Speakers notes section list the last names of your group members. You must have a positive comment in the speakers note section on each slide (What did you like about it? What did they do a good job of covering?) You must include an opportunity for improvement comment in the speakers note section of each slide (What didn’t they have? Was information not correct? ) Go to the link below to start evaluating your peers.
