6 Battle of Gettysburg (July 1-3, 1863)
First time Lee ventures north (Pennsylvania) in hopes to end the war. South was looking for shoes and supplies for their army. The South attacks quickly, were unorganized and were defeated with heavy casualties.

7 Gettysburg Continued:
Marks the high point of the war for the South as they will never again venture that far North. 53,000 Americans die over the course of three days fighting.
