1 Rules for Centres Do what you are suppose to do. Be where you are suppose to be. Have what you are suppose to have. Stay on Task. Don’t just pretend to be working, actually work. If you complete your centre, make sure it’s to the best of your ability and then get caught up on another centre OR independent reading is always an option. You may listen to music independently. Work quietly- No talking at the assessment centre. Don’t interrupt me at the guided reading center unless you a) are bleeding b) are barfing c) are dying d) all of the above.

Finally, don’t forget to use footnotes 1 (INSERT-FOOTNOTE) 1 Alliteration

5 Centre 3 History Timelines- Finish off your personal and world timelines for your lifetime. Don’t forget to include personal events on the top line and world events on the bottom line. Personal events can include- trips, birth days (siblings), deaths, sporting events, moving, school events, cool experiences, etc. World events can include- politics, pop culture (movies, music, celebrities), sporting events, inventions, natural disasters, local events, etc.

6 Centre 4 Career Day- This is a worksheet you need to complete before career day (April 23, 2018). You will need a laptop or an iPad and you’ll log on to CAREER CRUISING. You will need to explore a job that interests you (professional athlete, model, physiotherapist, mailman, etc.). Answer the questions on the worksheet for that specific job.

7 Centre 5 Guided Reading- Summarizing. At the back table. Bring your history duotang. We will be reading together and starting to fill out a chart that you will use later on for studying purposes. If you miss this Centre make sure you catch up with one of the members of your group.

Don’t lose marks just because you didn’t read the instruction. NO TALKING AT THIS CENTRE. If you are chatting with your group members I’m going to assume you are cheating. Hand in whether you are done or write “DNF” if you need more time.

14 Centre 6 Guided Reading- Inferencing. At the back table. Bring a pencil or pen. We will be reading “The boy who walks backwards” together and working through an activity. What happens at the guided reading table stays at the guided reading table. No need to blab the details of this activity.
