1 DLR- Monday, August 6, 2018 Linking Verb- connects (links) the subject to a word or phrase that refers back to the subject Common LV: am, is, are, was, were, be, being, been, has, have, had, can, could, do, does, did, shall, should, will, would, may, might, must, etc. Five senses: looks, sounds, smells, tastes, feels, etc. Adjective- Describes, modifies, or gives more information about a noun or pronoun. Ex: cold, happy, young, two, fun The little girl has a pink hat. Adverb- Modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. It tells how (often), where, when. Often, but not always, end in -ly. Ex: slowly, very, always, well, too Yesterday, I ate my lunch extremely quickly.

2 DLR- Tuesday, August 7, 2018 In each sentence, label the adjectives (ADJ) and adverbs (ADV). Underline ALL nouns/pronouns(s), and circle ALL verb(s). Testing time is up in ten minutes. I was on the travel basketball team three years in a row. 3. The wind quickly felt icy to the weary passengers. 4. The green turtle was across the pond in no time. 5. John and Nick sound amazing when they play guitar together.

3 DLR- Wednesday, August 8, 2018 In each sentence, label the adjectives (ADJ) and adverbs (ADV). Underline ALL nouns/pronouns, and circle ALL verb(s). 1. My miserly uncle is extremely stingy. 2. The generous donor was completely anonymous. Sally is the most valuable player on her team. My birthday pie tasted amazing. Almost all athletes smell terribly bad after a hard practice.

4 DLR- Thursday, August 9, 2018 In each sentence, label the adjectives (ADJ) and adverbs (ADV). Underline ALL nouns/pronouns(s), and circle ALL verb(s). Some drivers are dangerously distracted by their phones. Jackie saved money by grooming beautiful horses daily. The new movie will be out on Friday. Someone keeps putting their wet towel on the floor. I am so excited about school I could cry!
