2 Noun- A Person, place, thing, or idea. EX: My house is just down the street.

3 Pronoun- A word that replaces a noun or other pronoun and used as the subject of the sentence. EX: He shot free throws during his basketball game.

4 Verb- A word that can express actions, events, or states of being EX: Bryson shoved his little brother into the wall.

5 Adjective~ a word that describes or modifies a noun or pronoun; which one? What kind? How many? EX: That girl had twelve of those pretty, pink pens!

6 Adverb~ a word that modifies a verb, adjective, or another adverb; they usually end in LY, but not always! EX: My mom finished her race very quickly!

7 Preposition~ connects nouns, pronouns, and other phrases to other words in a sentence; A prepositional phrase is made up of a preposition and an object and can have an article or phrase EX: My neighbor's dog dug under the fence to get in our yard.

8 Conjunction~ connects words, phrases, and sentences to make a longer sentence. EX: We swam in the pool and then we went to the movies!

9 Interjection~ An interjection is a word added to a sentence to convey emotion. EX: WOW!! You ate your double cheeseburger under two minutes Bryson!

10 Article~ Also called a DETERMINER- The words A, AN, and THE used before a noun or adjective- noun. EX: Bryson and Blake wrapped a house on their street!
