19 Keys to INS Success Organization is the key
The 1st 2 pages will be creative and Show Me You!! Everyone will be consistent (the same) with some parts of the INS

20 Let’s Get started! Using a permanent marker: The Cover should include the following information: Your name and class period Teacher: Ms. Hildebrand Write your last name on the spine

21 Numbering Pages Pages will be numbered at the bottom right side of each page. You do not number the back of the page as the next page number. The back of the page does not need to be numbered, or it can be numbered as side _b. For example, 1--1b, 2--2b, 3--3b….

22 Inside the Notebook The first two pages I give to you:
Number these pages 1 and 2 (bottom right corner) Use your creativity to develop pages you can be proud of. It can be in mixed media, which means you can use crayons, picture cut-outs, and construction paper in combination to create these pages that reflect your interests. Or maybe you are a computer graphics artist and want to include your own hand drawings as well. just be sure you have the required content listed next.

23 Author’s Historical Pages
These pages are for you to display the history of  yourself: make  a timeline of your life to date and include important events in  this timeline.  Add the lyrics of a favorite song that describes yourself.  Or you may add pictures of yourself at different  ages to show your development.  Be creative and make it yours. In the bottom right corners number these pages 1 and 2.

24 Identify aspects of yourself as a person or as a student and place on these pages. If you are a skateboarding expert, use the skateboard as a symbol for yourself. If you play the violin, use the violin as a symbol for yourself and include it in your cover design. These symbols can be your favorite things, a hobby, or something special about you.

25 Page 3-Historical Information Just number the page 3
Leave blank because you will: Thumb through your textbook to identify two (2) major periods, ideas, or events in World History in which you are interested. Use your table of contents to help you find the chapter timelines which can help you review the major events of this history.  Draw or use magazines, or print images from the Internet to show the two events or periods within the design of your page. You can label the events if it helps your design.

26 Notebook Guidelines: Pages 3B-4
You will paste the two page Notebook Guidelines handout you were given to show your parents and have them sign it  here.   Paste the first page of the Notebook Guidelines on the back  of page 3 (the left side for page 4) and the second page of the Notebook Guidelines on page 4.  Don't forget to number the bottom right corner of this page 4.

27 Notebook Expectations Page
The next right side page, page 5, write Notebook Expectations Page at the top. Then after having read the notebook guidelines and the notebook evaluation criteria handouts and listened to Ms. Hildebrand in class, write a paragraph summary in your own words of your understanding of the expectations for the notebook and a second paragraph where you explain how you understand this notebook will be evaluated.

28 Table of Contents Pages
Number the next 5 right side pages from 6 to 10 on the bottom right side of each page. These are going to be your Table of Contents pages.   On page 6 write Table of Contents in bold letters at the top of that page.  Then  create a table like the example shown.  You will fill this in as you are assigned activities to complete in your notebook throughout the year.

29 Page 11-Unit 1 Title Page The next right side page, page 11, will be your first unit title  page.  You will create a unit title page for each unit studied.   Ms. Hildebrand will inform you what needs to be included on this  page.  Don't forget to write page 11 on the bottom right side  of this page.

30 PAGE 10b-Comic Strip You will either draw directly on this page or glue your comic strip (left side activity) based on the Romulus and Remus myth reading.
