Citizens: Can vote, serve on a jury, register for selective service, run for public office, eligible for social programs like Social Security, welfare, Medicare, Medicaid. Lawful Permanent Residents: Have protection of the Bill of Rights, register for selective service, but cannot serve on juries, vote, and may be ineligible for certain social programs

Socialism: limit economic inequality by ensuring a fair distribution of wealth Government owns or controls means of economic production In theory, manages the government in a way that benefits majority of citizens Libertarianism: strong belief in personal freedom Little government involvement on economic issues and liberal on social issues Environmentalism: deeply concerned with conservation and protection of the environment Meeting the needs of the world today with damaging the resources for future generations.
