In 2006 the Ministry of Panchayati Raj named Tonk one of the country‘s 250 most backwards districts.
Most of the population depends on agriculture.

Payment to farmers increases the income of the poorest farmers and 35,000 logistics workers get the chance to participate in this sector. Since beginning of the project a €45 million business has been generated for the farmers by selling biomass to KPTL.
Kalpataru purchased Mustard Crop Residue and other biomass from farmers of about Euro 45 Million in last 15 years.

Workers of the company and their direct family members benefit from a company health insurance policy including a sound health prevention system.
Installed Street Lights.
