INTRODUCTION
Mock Test 18 follows the IPU pattern wherein the students are subjected to the same level of difficulty both in terms of question type and level.
The mock test comprises of four sections with a total of 150 questions.
A student is expected to attempt this test in an actual test like environment wherein he has 150 minutes to complete the test and thus need to schedule his/her time accordingly.
A scheme of negative marking (+4, -1) is there.

The questions were of moderate level of difficulty. Just as one requires an understanding of the context when dealing with cloze passages, so was it required here. All the questions should have been attempted.

7. GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
This MOCK TEST – 18 was based on the pattern of IPU test and this time the total no. of questions for this test was 38.
When we analyze the break up the questions we see that the maximum number questions were from static field. Total no. of questions from static were 30 and out of that 13 questions were from sciene, technology and ecology and environment.
The level was moderate to hard.
There were only 7 questions from current affairs and they were mainly from misc. field.

12. Legal aptitude
This section had 36 questions on Legal Aptitude comprising of Legal Reasoning and Legal knowledge questions:

Legal Knowledge (22 questions)
Overall, the section was of easy difficulty level. The Legal Reasoning section tested the ability of students to understand and interpret questions with multiple principles and explanations and the combined application of the same to factual matrix to reach the best answer.
The legal knowledge section was of a moderate difficulty level and needed the candidate to have knowledge on the subjects of Constitutional Law, Law of Contracts, Criminal Law, Law of Torts and General Principles of Law.
An attempt around 33 would be considered a good attempt for this section.

Legal Reasoning: The Legal Reasoning section of Mock 18 was of a reasonably easy level.
Legal Knowledge: The legal Knowledge portion was of a moderate level.
The reasoning section consisted of only 15 questions so the students had ample time to devote in reading and understanding of the question.
The section was constituted of questions from Criminal Law, Law of Torts, Law of Contracts, Constitutional Law, International Law, Intellectual Property Law, General Principles of Law and Important Statutes.

15. Question analysis
Questions 78 and 79: The questions were based on the Principle of State mentioned under Article 12 of the Constitutional law. The principle was followed by a long set of facts. When we read through the facts we can see that there is a good degree of control by the government but not enough to term it ‘State’ as per the principle given.
W.r.t. Question 78, NCERT cannot come under the ambit of State because its activities are not totally dependent on government functions and the control was limited to funding and issuing of directions on policy and programmes. Hence, (a) is the correct answer.
W.r.t. Question 79, if we change the facts to the situation that NCERT was formed under a statute then also it will not be ‘State’ because the Principle says that financial, functional and administrative control is required for a body to become ‘State’. Hence, (b) is correct.

16. Question analysis
Questions 89: This question was the lengthiest question in the reasoning part and dealt with the concept of Bailment. The first principle states the concept of bailment and defines the ‘bailor’ and ‘bailee’. The second principle states the liability of the parties in case a contract of bailment is made.
As per the facts, the store owner is not responsible for the missing broach as she was not the one who found it. It was Anamika’s assistant, Madhur, who found the brooch and placed it in his drawer, entering into bailment. Hence, (c) is the correct answer option.
