Confederate troops retreated to Virginia (pg. 426) Battle of Chancellorsville May 1863 Chancellorsville, Virginia Confederate troops and General Lee defeated Union . Gave Troops confidence to try to invade the North. (pg. 433) Battle of Vicksburg June Vicksburg, Mississippi Union troops surrounded city and cut off supplies to the Confederate troops for 2 months.
