Make sure you have finished reading “The All- American Slurp.” Finish the summarize organizer from centers last week. Make sure you have finished your introduction and 1st body paragraph. Make sure you completed your reading log from last week. 1. Have a pencil ready for the day. 2. Take out your writing folder. *When you are finished, update your table of contents in your journal or read a book.

2 Writing Conclusions What do we know about introductions?
We will learn about what to include in our conclusions. Add these notes to the same page of your introduction notes in your writing folder.

1. Have a pencil ready for the day. 2. Begin the bell ringer in your READING composition journal. Draw a line under the last prompt and add this to the same page. If you have to start a new page, add it to the table of contents. Title: Persuasive/Opinion Prompt 10/5/16 Many people believe that television violence has a negative effect on society because it promotes violence. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to support your response. Write as much as you can before we start.  *When you are finished, work on incomplete work or read a book.

9 Plagiarize vs. Paraphrase
You will learn to distinguish between plagiarism and paraphrasing. Plagiarism- copied text Paraphrase- sum it up on your own words You will need: Student Sample copies and a highlighter. When we look at the original text, you will highlight information found in the student sample to help you determine if the work was paraphrased or plagiarized.

11 Connecting body paragraphs to the introduction.
You have learned to write an introduction and conclusion. Today you will earn to connect each body paragraph to your introduction. The “plan” in your introduction will help organize the paper. You will need: student practice sheet Add to your writing folder.
