11/06 – 11/10

2 Accommodations for ESE, 504 & ELL
1. Provide notes when requiring student to copy. 2. Highlight key concepts. 3. Allow extended time. 4. Provide materials for review. 5. Read directions for student. 6. Check for comprehension. 7. Leave class for assistance. 8. Use organizational strategies. 9. Question students when necessary.

3 Monday 11/6 AGENDA Write Learning Goal Bell Ringer
I did – passive membrane transport notes We do – osmosis lab day 1 You do – complete day 1 questions I do – active transport notes

4 Learning Goal and Bell Ringer (p 71) monday 11/6
What is osmosis? Learning Goal (multiple this week) I will be able to differentiate and explain the passive transport types. I will be able to differentiate and explain the active transport types. Benchmark SC.912.L.14.2: Relate structure to function for the components of plant and animal cells. Explain the role of cell membranes as a highly selective barrier (passive and active transport). Learning Goal Monday Tuesday Friday Thursday Weekly Prefixes

5 Perform Day 1 of the lab Weigh the egg Depict the egg
Vinegar on the egg

6 CELL MEMBRANE ACTIVE TRANSPORT (P73) ON SCHOOLOGY

Bell Ringer When Streptococcus pneumoniae are exposed to an antibiotic, the bacteria try to pump the antibiotic out of their cells. Which of the following mechanisms is most likely used by the Streptococcus pneumoniae to pump the antibiotic out of their cells? Learning Goal (multiple this week) I will be able to differentiate and explain the passive transport types. I will be able to differentiate and explain the active transport types. Benchmark SC.912.L.14.2: Relate structure to function for the components of plant and animal cells. Explain the role of cell membranes as a highly selective barrier (passive and active transport). Learning GoalT Monday Tuesday Friday Thursday Weekly Prefixes

20 Period 7 – Teacher absent
Bell Ringer - When Streptococcus pneumoniae are exposed to an antibiotic, the bacteria try to pump the antibiotic out of their cells. Which of the following mechanisms is most likely used by the Streptococcus pneumoniae to pump the antibiotic out of their cells? You do not have assigned seats but need to sit in the middle not at the lab tables as much as possible. Since the sophomores are on a field trip the class may have few students to fit in the middle section. There is a review worksheet for you to work on today. You can also finish up the osmosis worksheet or the transport G.O. if you have not. All assignments are to be finished on Monday 11/13 so you are prepared for the test.

21 Perform Day 4 of the lab (period 7 on Friday)
Weigh the egg Depict the egg Answer Questions Clean Up the experiment
