Meet the team Teacher: Mrs Tabbner (Assistant Head Teacher)
Support Staff – Miss Billington (HLTA) and Mrs Mills Miss Billington and will be covering PPA. Miss Hepworth will be covering PE

KS1 subjects Literacy SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar)
Phonics if needed as a booster Numeracy Science Topic Work which includes History, Geography, Art, D & T and ICT PSHE and Religion PE Music

Maths – Number, place value, addition, odd and even, 2D shape and money Literacy – Reading, writing, phonics and grammar through Toy story Science – Human body PE – Dance and ball skills History – Ourselves and comparing present and past. Geography – not covered this half term DT– Food preparation Art – Character paintings / pop art ICT – Online safety and uses of ICT RE – Judaism

Class timetable Mornings – Early morning work, Go Noodle, SPAG/ Phonics, literacy, playtime, Guided reading, Numeracy. Afternoons – Handwriting/correcting work time, topic based activities, school mile, assembly, story or show and tell.

PE Tuesday Afternoons are PE afternoons
Please ensure earrings are out for PE and that PE kits are in school. PE kits can be left in school all half term.

Homework Spellings – Once a week. Take home on Wednesday, spelling test to follow the next week. Please return daily. Reading – Children can change their books as often as they wish. Adults please sign their reading diary when you listen to them read. Homework - The children will be provided with a homework book with a grid of tasks they need to complete each half term. Homework books should be placed in the homework box when all tasks are completed so they can be marked.

Key points Please make sure water bottles, PE kits, uniform and pumps are labelled with your child's name. Reading books: In year 2 and 3 we encourage the children to change their books themselves in the morning to develop independence. Please make sure your child’s reading book and reading record are in school every day. Please do not bring toys to school to play with as they may get damaged or lost.

Key points If you have any questions or queries please feel free to speak to any member of staff. Parents are asked to leave their children at the cloakroom door in a morning due to health & safety and safeguarding reasons.

Behaviour and rewards In line with the school’s behaviour policy we use a traffic light system. Praise Golden tickets/raffle tickets Reward time e.g golden time/iPad time New reward system: Class Dojo

Wellbeing Newly formed wellbeing team – SENDCo, PSA, EHA leader
Friendly, approachable team If you have any concerns relating to special needs or behaviour at school or at home pop in and see us! We have a worry monster in school to support children Emotional wellbeing groups/ talking time Alliances with outside agencies Monthly SEND drop in sessions

KS1 assessment If children do not meet the required standard in the phonics screening test in Year One they will have the opportunity to try again in Year Two Year 2 children will take SATs in Literacy, SPAG and Numeracy in May next year. There will be a meeting with more details about this later in the school year.
