An illness as a young child left her deaf and blind.
Anne Sullivan was hired to teach her.
She used sign language to try to help Helen connect words with objects.
“Water” was the 1st successful word. On that day, after that, she learned 30 new words.
She went on to learn to speak, graduate from college, and educate others all over the world.
