Towns and cities are examples of human features in AL. AL is also divided into 67 counties. We live in Colbert County.

9 Transportation is the way in which people get from one place to another. The people of AL mostly use roads and highways. Like rivers, roads and highways connect AL with other states. They also connect cities within AL to each other.

10 Ch. 1 Biography: Helen Keller
An illness as a young child left her deaf and blind. Anne Sullivan was hired to teach her. She used sign language to try to help Helen connect words with objects. “Water” was the 1st successful word. On that day, after that, she learned 30 new words. She went on to learn to speak, graduate from college, and educate others all over the world.
