Humanistic theorist Abraham Maslow ( )- born in Brooklyn, New York. -Russian-Jewish family -started his college career studying law, but switched to psychology. He worked with some of the leading theorist in the field.

Psychologist Abraham Maslow felt everyone has a drive to reach their full potential. -To become Self-actualized -Before you can become self-actualized, you need to have your basic needs met. -To explain this process Maslow created the Hierarchy of Needs. pg.40

The motivation to develop one’s full potential as a human being- the highest and most elusive of Maslow’s proposed needs.

-Need Handout -Review the Hierarchy of Needs Use the list from your morning routine and see where those actions/needs fit into the hierarchy.
