1 How to support your child through ‘The Early Years’

2 How you can help your child become independent and ready to learn.
Little tips from the first few weeks… Settled well, don’t worry if your child hasn’t settled well it takes other longer. Well done for a good start.

3 Water not juice. Fruit snacks (not fruit based) Practise dressing and undressing (lots are struggling with taking off jumpers) Name EVERYTHING Send coats and wellies in to school Read at home each night and comment in reading record.

4 If you need to talk please catch us at the end of the day – the mornings, on the door, are extremely busy Once the doors are shut the adults inside will be with children. Please take your child to the office

5 Quick Overview - Curriculum
What we assess the children on throughout the year and what our gld was this year compared the national. Not just this we do look at progress as well throughout the year.

6 Good Level of Development
All of the prime areas along with Literacy and Maths make up a ‘Good Level of Development’ Great Dunmow 73% GLD

7 GLD is evidenced through
Observations Photos Videos Parental access Work samples Assessment tool, that we are starting in the next couple of weeks,

Tapestry & anything else – Mrs Waters We have time to listen to the class teachers talk a bit more about literacy and numeracy I will be here to try to answer any questions.
