Science - This week we will be talking about penguins. We will talk about the features of a nonfiction book while discussing facts about penguins including where they live. We will use what we are learning in science to write an information text about penguins. We will also talk about Martin Luther King Jr. and why he is so important in our lives.

Describing and Making 3D shapes
The students will continue exploring with pattern blocks to make a variety of 3D shapes. We will talk about each shape and their attributes.
Author Study
This week we will continue our author study by Jan Brett. We will read the books Gingerbread Baby and The First Dog.
