2 Roads roads were one of the main uses of transport.
Roads were poorly maintained . local magistrates had been given power to charge tolls for using main roads to provide funds for maintenance. By the 1830s the quality of roads between major cities improved. from the 1780s onwards old roads became better maintained and new turnpike roads were constructed. turnpikes were created for easier transportation especially for horse drawn carriage. Roads were made from crushed rocks in thin layers

the roads in britain were really muddy and boggy therefore the going on boat would be the best way for people to travel bigger loads of food and other types of goods could be transport the first major canal was built to transport coal to the city of liverpool the canals were privately owned

4 Railways railways were one of the biggest growths of transport.
railways came as a result of steam engines and tramway systems. in the early 19th century, steam technology developed, enough for experiments to begin in use of steam moving vehicles. the first railway, was used to transport coal from mines. the use of railways inspired George Stephenson, to promote the use of steam engine in a wide variety of goods, and passengers.
