How do I strategize for a presentation? How do I identify general and specific goals? How do I construct a clear thesis? How do I develop an organizational plan? How do I create an effective introduction and conclusion How do I effectively transition between ideas?

I don’t actually work in a business/ or professional setting. I’m not that important. My job title doesn’t include presentations. I know how to speak. It doesn’t really matter…does it?

Power (supervisors/ decision makers How much do they know? What do they not know? What do they want to know? Their Interests What are their personal preferences? Formal/ informal, serious/ humor, fast-paced/ leisurely Significant demographic characteristics? Gender, age, culture, economic status What size is the group? delivery What are the listener’s attitudes? Yourself, your topic
