4 Google Posts Google Posts now live for all Google My Business users
As of 7/9/2017 at least some and maybe all of the Sport Clips locations has the ability to make Google Posts Think of Google Posts as a tweet (300 words) that appears below your business profile when local store results are displayed In the example to the right, this business is notifying its customers that they have a new location The image, the text below the image and the ‘Learn More’ link are all part of a Google Post Continued…

7 Google Posts Here’s what we know about Google Posts so far
These Google Posts generally expire within seven days after posting them If the post is about an event with a set date, the post may not expire until after the event date, even if that is more than 7 days You can promote events and tell customers about upcoming happenings at your location or you can showcase your top products and highlight new arrivals You can share daily specials or current promotions that encourage new and existing customers to take advantage of your offers by creating a CTA link in a Google Post You can choose one of the available button options to connect with your customers directly from your Google Post You can give them a one-click CTA path to make a reservation, sign up for a newsletter, buy one of your products or get a promotional offer Posts will show up in both Google search and Google map results Posts can currently only be created only in card view We will show you card view on a following slide 1) Posts expire 7 days or at the end of an event 2) you can promote events, top products or new arrivals 3) have the ability to add a specific button link in a post such as a reservation, a sign-up, a purchase, a promotional offer, or learn more 4) posts will show below search & local results 5) you need to be in card view to create posts

Login to Google My Business manager and select the Sport Clips listings

Login to Google My Business manager at business.google.com Google Posts only work in ‘Card Mode’ for now, so once you see your listings, switch the view to ‘Card Mode’ by clicking the icon of a grouping of squares as seen on the image below

Find the listing you want to create the post on and click ‘Manage Location’

Scroll down the listing to the posts row and click the ‘Create Post’ button

You can click the photo icon to add a photo to your post Also, note the preview button in the upper right hand corner

Click where it says ‘Write a post’ and enter up to 300 words, but shorter posts are recommended, think of a Twitter tweet for an appropriate sized post This is a text field only, no links

If this post is about an event, click the toggle on the right hand side so that it turns blue Enter in the event title as wells as the time and date information

If this post includes a call to action link, click the toggle on the right hand side so that it turns blue Select the type of link to include on the right and then paste in your destination URL

Scroll back up to the of the page and click the ‘Preview’ button

Preview the post and if you like it click Publish to make it live If you don’t like it you can exit the preview by clicking the arrow on the left hand side

To exit editing this post you can click the ‘X’ next to ‘Create post’ To exit the post editor all together you can close the tab at the top of the browser
