A condition in which there is excess sugar in the bloodstream that cannot be converted to energy. This often occurs from a combination of high sugar intake, insulin resistance, and exhaustion of the pancreas. Definition compiled from CDC and Diabetes.org *There are two types of diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2). We will focus specifically on Type 2 Diabetes today.
