What is ICAP? An Individualized Student Plan to help guide students through high school & post secondary planning Students will be able to: Plan classes to match goals Explore careers based on interest Prepare for Career & College including advising on Career and Technical pathways Explore College Options Prepare for college applications and utilize the free test preparation Learn about Concurrent Enrollment Ariel – Talk about ICAP and the transition from Middle School to High School

9 Honors English I What is Honors English?
Honors English is a faster paced class with a heavier workload (there is more reading & writing) Students are also expected to complete independent study assignments Students must complete a Fall Break assignment that includes reading a novel and a written assignment This is a great class to prep for upper level college classes such as Concurrent Enrollment and Advanced Placement classes Amber – present during the day Kirsta & Alyssa during the parent night

Educate and train high school cadets in citizenship Promote community service Instill responsibility, character & self discipline Provide instruction in air and space fundamentals AFJROTC cadets and Col. Turner

11 AFJROTC 1 In AFJROTC 1 you will learn:
Leadership Education I – Citizenship, Character & Air Force Tradition Aviation History Uniform Wear Drill & Ceremonies Physical Training

16 FHS Agriculture Introduction to Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources is the first course on this pathway. This course is designed to introduce Agricultural: Careers Enterprises Practices Sciences Amber – student presentation

17 Biotechnology – Project Lead the Way

Engineering at FHS The first course along this pathway is: Introduction to Engineering You will learn the basics of Engineering which include: Designing Testing Analyzing various projects and challenges You will use industry standard software & equipment

21 How to Register for Classes
Go to the FHS website and click on Freshman Course Guidebook The classes are also listed on the back of your registration card. Fill out the registration card. Required classes are already filled in for you. You have to select your Math class and three different Elective choices. A full year class takes up two spaces and a semester long class takes up one space. Pick your alternate choices wisely – the classes listed in alternates may end up on your schedule! Make sure your name is on your registration card!

22 Registration Card Due Date
Once your registration card is complete with a parent signature turn it into your FMS Counselor Mr. Hull. All registration cards are due by Wednesday December 7th. If you do not turn in your registration card your classes will be selected for you!
