Success Skills Online CNA & Specialties LEAD Materials and programs created in response to employer needs gathered through rapid response surveys and needs assessments.

5 Success Skills for CNAs
Created to help CNAs with success skills like: Organization & Time Management Leadership Professionalism Communication Critical Thinking & Conflict Resolution 5 minute videos Can be used in orientations, staff training or one-on-one Facilities have copies of MP4 46 facilities currently using the modules

6 CNA Specialty Course in Restorative Care
Has been peer reviewed Can be completed in 8 weeks (10 hours of work a week for student) Can be used as an apprenticeship More specialty courses in development: Mentorship Dementia End of Life Created by Sue Roe Reviewed by Mary Nielsen, a CNA Instructor and a DLI Apprenticeship Specialist

LEAD: Learn, Engage, Adapt, Do Topics: Communication, Professionalism and Dependability, Leadership, Conflict Resolution 10 minutes Relies on a Champion Roll out through HCMT Workforce Coordinators Just enough, just in time and just fore the right user Created by Carly Holman, Emily Simpson and Natalie Peeterse based on social science and workplace training research The objective of this program is to help employees gain awareness of their thoughts and actions and how they impact those around them, with the overall goal of creating a positive and productive work environment where patients and employees thrive. Intended to be quick and painless Positive feedback from the Champion and Administration Very high scores on user feedback survey

15 Montana Healthcare Workforce Statewide Strategic Plan 2017
Prepared in conjunction with the MT Healthcare Workforce Advisory Council Professional sections written with assistance from representative field experts 4 focus areas Engage Montanans in understanding and addressing the state’s workforce needs Educate and train the Montana health care workforce Recruit health professionals to Montana’s Health Professional Shortage Areas Retain a skilled health care workforce Recommendations Analyzing capacity of rural community clinical teaching sites Create and cultivate partnerships Apprenticeship development Tracking clinical rotations HC MT work addresses a number of strategies included in the focus areas such as -analyzing capacity of rural community clinical teaching sites -create and cultivate partnerships (employers, higher ed, state agencies, the community, local government and training programs); work together to create joint grant proposals -apprenticeship development -tracking clinical rotations to inventory existing clinical ed and coordinate new training sites As we look ahead to determining what portions of the grant have made the most impact and what activities might best be retained to sustain positive movement, the strategic plan provides a framework for identifying priorities.
