RELIGION According to Kids Know it, “Each day and the living of it has to be a conscious creation in which discipline and order re relieved with some play and pure foolishness” (Kids know it Network,2016) In Ancient Africa in the villages or town they believed that only one god ruled by himself. They also believed that his assistants always would have to check on everyone. http://www.africa.mrdonn.orghttp://www.africa.mrdonn.org/ (Donn, 2016) Ancient African Religion of Yoruba Finds Roots In America. 3 RELIGION According to Carr, “The earliest evidence we have for religious faith in Africa is from Egypt, where by 3000 BC people were already worshipping Isis, Osiris, Ra, and the Amen”. (Carr, 2016). Back in 3000 BC Africans would worship Isis, Osiris, and Ra. The Africans would worship these gods because of the Egyptians. According to Carr, “Around 300 AD there was a second great change in African religious belief when many North and East Africans gradually followed the Roman Emperor's Lead in converting to the monotheistic faith of Christianity.” In 300 AD the Africans also believed that the Romans followed the lead of christianity. 4 RELIGION The Greeks, and then the Romans, soon added their Gods to the Gods worshipped in North Africa. (Carr 2016)GreeksRomans Once the Greeks and Romans added their Gods, they gave the Africans new Gods. In this same time period, the Bantu were gradually expanding across southern Africa, bringing their faith with them. (Carr, 2016)Bantu Bantu was also very slowly expanding across and into Africa and giving them hope and peace.

Geography According to Carr“In West Asia, Africa and Europe, people planted grains: wheat, barley, millet, oats and rye, and legumes like peas, lentils, and chickpeas. In South America, it was potatoes, corn, squash, sweet potatoes, beans, yuca root” (Carr, 2016) (Carr 2016)

Ancient Africa African art has developed from many traditions.Ancestors worship, religion, magic and other aspects reflect on their art(walker, 2016).By about 75,000 years ago, Africans in blombos cave were mixing minerals to make paint and carving abstract designs into blocks of red ochre(Walker, 2016 ).Sculptures were the most important types of art in Ancient Africa (Technological solutions, Inc, 2016). According to All- About-African-Art, “African art is made from various materials, all of which depend on which part of the continent they come from. They also play an important role in African decor”(All-About-African-Art,2016).African art uses many materials and their art is an import role in african decor.Sculpture is a famous type of art for Africa. (All about african art, 2016)

Ancient Africa (Etsy, 2016) They contributed to painting and making things.According to Carr,“Probably the first people to leave taking their red ochre and seashell necklaces with them first went through Egypt, around the Red Sea to the Arabian Peninsula, through some people may have crossed the Red Sea to the Arabian Peninsula from Eritrea, where you can see Arabian across the water”(Carr, 2016, p.1).Africans went to different countries to spread red ochre and jewelry.Africans also love making things like jewelry.According to Karen Carr “The earliest art we know about comes from Blombos Cave in South Africa, where there are carvings and bead jewelry from about 80,000 BC”(Carr, 2016, pg.1).The art that Africans made came from the Blombos Cave where there are bead bracelets and carvings. They would make seashells into necklaces (Carr,2016).According to Karen Carr, “They made seashells into beads for necklaces”(Carr,2016). (Rose, 2016)

Politics and government Most of Ancient Africa’s politics were very difficult to describe. Most trade was slave trade. (Children In History, 2007).According to Marion, “They traded things such as ivory, Ostrich eggs, granite, gold, cotton cloth, linen, jewelry, wine, and glass. They also traded grains, metal, cattle, books, textiles, tools, pottery, and slaves.”(Marion, 2016). Ancient Africans also traded things like food, cloth, gold, etc. In Ancient Africa the government was not unified and the villages all had different leaders. The reason it was not unified was because each village ruled itself. (Adams, 2016). Since Ancient Africa was not a whole it was not a unified civilization. 9 Politics and Government In the villages anybody can state their opinions, but the leader(s) make the overall decisions (Adams, 2016).In Ancient Africa the one who did all the decisions was actually the leader or leaders. According to Cause, “Kings, Chiefs, and Elders are leaders, not rulers. They are the elected representation of the people and the instruments for executing their will”( Cause, 2016). Wright states, “ More than 3,500 years ago, ancient Egyptians raided neighboring societies for slaves, and the buying and selling of slaves were regular activities in cities along the Nile River” ( Wright, 2000). A consequence in Ancient Africa was slavery and being a slave people would be traded regularly. Africans would also treat slaves like animals. (5 Most Powerful African Kings From History, 2014). Rulers/kings of Ancient Africa

Politics and government Donn states, “ Their laws were gentle. People were important. The king had a council of elders to advise him. There were district leaders all over the kingdom to make sure people were treated fairly” ( Donn, 2016). In the Kingdom of Ghana the laws were less strict. The people all got treated fairly and their was more peace. Donn notes, “If you were found guilty of stealing from someone in your village or another village, you could apologize and make things right by returning the goods or replacing them, and you would not be punished. Benin did have slaves, but slaves were treated very well. You could earn your way out of slavery” ( Donn, 2016). In the kingdom of Benin they would also treat their people fairly. The kingdom allowed people to apologize and return whatever they stole and would not get consequences. It seems that the kingdom’s consequences were not a problem. 11 Economy According to Carr, “African traders have been selling things to West Asian and Indian traders and buying things from them since at least 4000 BC” (Carr, 2016). The africans traded their resource with other civilizations. The Ancient Africans distributed their resources by trading with West Asia and India. Africans traded things like cowrie shells, and ivory made from elephant tusks.(Carr, 2016). Some of the things africa traded were resources related to show for display. Ivory Tusks (Tusks Quotes, 2016)

Economy According to Adams, “Their economy was not stable because they had to depend on cash crops for money if they couldn’t trade” ( Adams, 2010). If the africans could not trade their last hope was money. In ancient africa the economy was very difficult to explain because they traded but at the same time

Social Structures The social class systems were by race, culture, white and western. The roles they had was they had introduced their continent.Africans used traditional instruments such as the drum, african maracas, the balafon, the lute and the harp.Daily life for them is sometimes rural.Daily lives for groups is not depended on the leaders don't depend on feeding them they depend on factories.(Africa,2016)
