2 Pre-K Teachers Mrs. Yarberry –This is my fifth year teaching. I taught first grade for 2 years and this will be my third year teaching Pre-K. These kids melt my heart and make me smile and laugh every single day. I have 2 dogs at home, Ellie an English Bulldog, and Dakota a yellow lab. They are my furry children. Teaching is truly my passion and I am so excited for this year with your children! Mrs. Smith –This is my eleventh year teaching. I have been teaching Pre-K for 10 of those years! I have four boys from 21 years young to 6 years young. I love working with kids and watching them grow up. I enjoy going to church and my kids sporting events. I look forward to getting to know your child!

5 Daily Folder We will begin sending home a daily folder starting the second week of school Please look at the folder and initial the behavior report each day Feel free to write notes to the teachers using the notebook paper behind the monthly calendar Teachers will use “See Note” in your child’s monthly calendar when we have any questions/concerns/comments that need to be addressed

6 Class Rules I will sit in my area. I will control my body. I will look and learn. I will listen and learn. I will do and learn.

7 Classroom Management Plan Every child begins the day with a sticker in his/her folder and starts their day on green If a child makes a sad choice, a verbal warning will be given. If a child makes another sad choice, the child will be asked to change his/her color on the behavior chart If a child makes another sad choice, the child will be asked to change his/her color on the behavior chart, his/her sticker will be removed, and the teacher will write a note home in the child’s daily folder Every child has the opportunity to change their color to BLUE! This means your child has made excellent choices and will receive a treasure box prize for their excellent behavior!

8 Star Charts We LOVE to celebrate good choices! When a child makes an exceptional choice, he/she will earn a star on their Star Chart. Each child gets to go to the treasure box or coupon store when he/she has earned 5 stars Coupon Store: laminated “coupons” will be paper clipped in your child’s daily folder when he/she earns 5 stars. Please return coupon the next school day or they will not be able to use the coupon at school –Examples of “Coupons”: Stinky Feet, Fluffy Friend, Cool Hat, Slippers, Pick Your Own Center, etc.

9 Change in Dismissal Please make sure you fill out the form on how your child will be getting home and give to the teacher today Please keep in mind that we are very busy throughout the school day. If you need to contact me by email, either before 7:30 AM or between 11:00 AM -12:00 PM if it is something pertinent for that day –Amanda.yarberry@humble.k12.tx.usAmanda.yarberry@humble.k12.tx.us –281-641-1821 If any last minute dismissal changes occur, please contact the front office and they will let us know immediately –281-641-1890 PLEASE send a note if somebody different is going to be picking up your child. Please be aware that if they are not on your child’s contact information then we will not be able to release your child

10 Extra Set of Clothes Please place an extra set of clothes in a labeled ziplock bag in your child’s backpack

11 School Parties We will have a Winter, Friendship, and Spring Party AM Class 10:00-10:45 PM Class 1:00-1:45 If your child does not have any party items to bring for the first school party then they will be asked to bring party items for the next school party

12 Meals and Prices Breakfast and lunch are offered Free and Reduced Meal Application Breakfast $1.30/Lunch $2.10 –Pay online –Send money in daily folder

13 Absences/Tardy To report an absence, call the absent line at 281-641-1819. Attendance report time is 9:35 for this year. Please work all appointments around this time. Students are tardy if they arrive after 8:05.

14 Text Messaging Elementary is now allowed to send unlimited text messages In order to receive text messaging you must OPT In… Text YES to 68453

15 Humble ISD App

16 Oaks Communication Each grade level sends out (email and/or hard copy) a newsletter every Monday letting you know of the week’s activities within that grade level. Pre-K Newsletter will be sent out starting Sept. 7 th, homework will be on the back which is due every Friday for a star on your child’s star chart Check websites for information HOOT SCOOP – School-wide newsletter is sent out every other week on Thursdays. A hard copy is sent home as well as an email to all families who have an email address in our database.

17 Dress Code Not allowed –Short shorts, mini skirts, halter tops, spaghetti straps, low cut or midriff shirts, inappropriate decorations or advertisements on shirts To play on playground equipment students must have tennis shoes or shoes with a back

18 Early Release AM- 8:00-9:50 PM- 10:00-11:50 Morning Parents- Please be on time so that we can get the afternoon class ready to start their school day! Morning breakfast will be normal, however, afternoon lunch will receive a sack lunch if they did not bring anything from home Early Release dates are posted on the Humble ISD webpage and are also listed on the monthly calendars and weekly newsletters

19 Birthday Treats Treats may be provided if they are store bought. You may drop them off in the front office or send them with your child if they are able to carry the treats Birthday treats may consist of: cookies or small cupcakes Birthday invitations may not be distributed at school per district policy A Birthday List will be sent out the second week of school. Please fill out this information (child’s name, contact number, email) if you would like your child to be on the Class Birthday List

20 Clinic Karen Fuhlmer is our school nurse Students will be sent home if they have a fever of 100.4 or above Your child should be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school
