6 Metro Tech Academic Recovery Time MART Per the School District a Tardy is defined as not being in the assigned class or activity when the tardy bell has finished ringing. It is the responsibility of the teacher to enforce the tardy policy and of the school administration to assist and implement a tardy policy. WE must work together to ensure the success of our tardy policy.

The student keeps a copy and you keep a copy for your records. EMAIL our Student Study Facilitator ROBERTO VALADEZ with your list of students that are being assigned to MART at least 15 minutes before MART starts. If student misses MART, he/she is assigned to Saturday school. ROOM 2083

First time that an electronic device is turned into the discipline office, the student will be able to get it after school. Second offense: the parent must pick up the electronic device. Multiple offenses: the student will receive a referral.

10 ATTENDANCE INTERVENTION Frequently Asked Questions: How often should I take attendance? If I’m not taking attendance regularly or accurately, how does that affect the school? What happens when a student is absent? What happens when a student has an attendance procedure?

11 ATTENDANCE INTERVENTION EXPECTATIONS PER J-1561JH-R: Each high school must establish a procedure to monitor the implementation of the attendance policy. Teachers must take attendance every day and make reasonable efforts to conference with students about their attendance problems and coordinate make-up work. Attendance procedures must be consistent and included in the teacher’s plan for success.
