3. Short Write: Tuesday Think Box I wonder why the woman would have wanted to wish using the paw again. I wonder this because the first wish turned out really badly. Her husband was also very nervous and he warned her not to wish. I think that she was missing her son and desperately wanted to do anything she could to get him back. I think this because they both missed him and thought it was their fault.

4. Long Write In the story “The Monkey’s Paw”, I began to wonder why Mrs. White would want to wish again using the paw. I wondered this because the first wish turned out very badly and her husband was very concerned and warned her not to wish again. I think that she was so desperate to get her son back that she would have risked everything. I think this because the family was so sad about the tragic accident and I feel like they probably blamed themselves. I can connect to losing a loved one. I can connect to this because when my grandmother died I wished that I could bring her back so that I could talk to her. I imagine that the mother in the story felt the same way about losing her son. I think that the book is trying to teach us that you can’t change destiny, and sometimes you just have to let things go and move on from your mistakes. I think this because every time the family used magic to try to change their future bad things happened.
