4 What is the Early Years Foundation Stage? The Early Years Foundation Stage (E.Y.F.S.) is the stage of education for children from birth to the end of the Reception year.

15 A typical day in FS 8:45 am Children come into school. 9.00-10.00 Free flow and small groups 10:20-10:40 Play time (When appropriate) 10.45-11.00 Phonics 11.00-11.45 Free flow and small groups 11.45- 1:00 Lunch 1:00- 1:10 Relaxation 1:10- 2:30 Free flow and small groups 2:30- 3:00 Tidy up, go to the library and change books, get ready for home time.

20 Medical Matters Any sickness, diarrhoea, must be followed by 48 hrs absence. Any absence requires a note or telephone call explaining why. Head lice are common! Please check regularly and treat as recommended.

21 What to bring… Book bag Water bottle Lunch box PE kit (stays in school) Indoor PE kit only – white t-shirt and black shorts, no footwear needed Coat and wellies Change of clothes Waterproof and warm clothing Sun cream and sun hat in hot weather PLEASE NAME EVERYTHING!
