3. Independent Daily Practices Enter the room quietly Turn in all Homework Complete Lunch Count Record Homework in Planners* Go to the Restroom Room, if needed Complete the Morning Assignment

4. Homework Policy Homework will be assigned daily – Classroom Website will list all http://brevard.teamcfa.org/ Read and log 20 min., 5 days a week Language Math Science or Social Studies – Must be complete and legible – Must be turned in on-time – If late, -10 pts per day (after 3 days = 0) – Additionally, Band Instrument practice 15 min. each day Absences – 3 days to complete with no penalty – Assignments not completed = 0 – Student must request

5. S*T*A*R System Common End-of-year Celebration Monitors whole class learning and behavior To earn “STAR” tallies: – S: Sit up straight, prepared to learn – T: Take notes (if necessary) – A: Always give your best effort – R: Read and follow along Behavior in “Specials” counts too!

6. Individual Behavior Card System Blue: Good day, keep it up! Green: Warning – 10 minutes of silent lunch Yellow: Repeated Infractions – Silent lunch – 10 minutes off Friday Fun – Student Documents Behavior, Parent Notified Red: Multiple Repeated Infractions – No Friday Fun – E-slip to the Principal – Immediate parent phone call

7. Drop Off/Dismissal Daily Drop Off – Strauss Building (warm weather) – Searcy Building (cold weather) Daily Pick-up from Strauss Green Pickup Cards – Child’s last name – Visibly placed in the front windshield, driver’s side Alternate Plans – Please send a note if your child’s pick-up will be different – Sleepover etc., please send a note from each parent Brevard Academy ____________________

8. Field Trips Approximately 5 to be scheduled – Planned for September, October, December, February, May Cost: $1- $20 Minimum 2 week parent notification Parent chaperones and volunteers may be requested – Please ride the bus with our classes All children required to ride the bus to and from our location for liability issues

9. North Carolina Postcards Please consider sending us a postcard when you or a family member visits a special place in North Carolina. It will compliment our NC History lessons.
