2. Song Chosen MOS DEF – QUIET DOG BITE HARD I chose this song as it has many different levels to it. The way it manages to stay upbeat whilst also slowing down in places seamlessly. The drums incorporated into the track work incredibly well, and the opening message from Fela Kuti, (Afrobeat music pioneer and human-rights Activist) summing up the theme of the track, perfectly inspire my creativity for its music video.

3. Music Video Influences Kid Cudi – Immortal Kanye West – Runaway Having taken a lot of inspiration from both of these music videos, I have also decided to alter their ideas to my own vision, going for a different approach entirely by somewhat combining the two. Despite both videos using slow motion, I’ve decided against this as I don’t believe it matches the pace of my chosen track. However there will be points in the track where the pace will and to compliment this, the footage I show will have a slower pace also.

4. Video Idea The idea for my video consists of the concept of working for what you want, for striving to be better, stronger human beings no matter what others think or say. Missing the match to nail that trick you’ve been chasing for weeks, pushing your body to its very limit to achieve flawless elegance and grace, knowing you wont be happy until you have reached your full potential, this is where greatness comes from.

5. Video Idea (Continued) Basically, the music video will follow two subjects, both a skateboarder and a ballet dancer. We will see both subjects in their element, doing what they do best. However, the contrast between the highly disciplined, focused world of ballet, and the grazed knees, community culture of skateboarding will be evident throughout. Whilst seeing the physical extremes our ballet dancer subject will go to for an image of elegance and refinement, we will also see the time, effort, and falls our skateboarder subject will put in, just to land that jump he’s been chasing. The contrast of the two subjects will also be exaggerated by the contrast of day and night.
