The Human Brain – The brain is the main organ of the human nervous system. It is located in the head and is protected by the skull. The human brain is made up of different lobes and structures that specialize in doing different things. Everything that you do is controlled by your brain.

The Frontal Lobe – The Frontal Lobe is at the front of the brain. It is the part of the brain that controls cognitive skills. In humans the cognitive skills include emotional expression, problem solving, memory, language, and judgment.

The Temporal Lobe – The Temporal Lobe plays a key role in the formation of long-term memories. It also controls our hearing. It processes what we hear so that we correctly understand that information.

The Parietal Lobe – The parietal lobe controls a lot of sensory information. Sensory information includes the different senses. The parietal lobe is where information such as taste, temperature and touch are processed.

The Occipital Lobe – The occipital lobe is in control of the visual processes. It is important to being able to correctly understand what your eyes are seeing. The occipital lobe makes sense of visual information so that we are able to understand it.

The Cerebellum – The cerebellum regulates motor movements. The cerebellum coordinates voluntary movements such as posture, balance, coordination, and speech. This results in smooth and balanced muscular activity.

The Pons – The Pons serves as a message station between several areas of the brain. It helps relay messages from higher and lower parts of the brain. It also plays a key role in sleep and dreaming.

The Cerebrum – The cerebrum is a large, folded mass of nervous tissue that makes up the majority of the human brain. The cerebrum is the whole pink area. It is made up of the four lobes of the human brain.
