LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY Best Practices and P-16 Collaboration

Increase Student Learning at all levels: Quality and Relevance LMU will collaborate with campus and community constituents to identify new and needed programs for all age and education levels. Campus Wide: Interdisciplinary Teacher Education Committee and the Undergraduate Curriculum Policies Committee Community Wide: Center for Professional Collaboration, Off-Campus Site Coordinator and the Center for Appalachian Development Studies (CADS) Advisory Councils for Teacher Education, CADS and all academic departments will provide valuable information on ways to improve the quality and relevance of existing programs

Smooth Transitions for Learners LMU will propose a program of dual enrolment for high school students. Students will be able to earn college credit in courses taught in their high school classrooms. Student recruiters provide valuable information to school-aged children

Educated Citizenry and a Healthy Economy LMU will develop a marketing plan that will stress the relationship between education and work opportunities. Research shows that this link is vital to adult student markets

Competent, Caring, and Qualified Teachers for P16 LMU is developing a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) degree that will provide area teachers with opportunities to further their knowledge, skills, and professional dispositions Doctoral students will use those skills in conducting action research that will inform their teaching and pursuit of best practices. The Center for Professional Collaboration (CPC) is actively partnering with area schools to provide workshops on ways present and future educators can achieve best practices
