18 Feb 2016 Bell Activity: Pick up the laptop from the cart that matches your desk number and log on. If your research focus is on an event, you want to discover:  what happened,  when,  where,  why and  who was involved,  who was affected,  what has happened since as a result of the event  ETC. If your research focus is on a person, you want to discover  who they are,  what they did,  why they did it  why they are famous,  who they have influenced,  who influenced them  what they are doing now  are they being honored  ETC.

This is the first year we have done this type of research and you are doing a variety of topics, so I am unsure of how many note cards you will really need. Therefore, I am assigning a minimal number of notecards, to see who is taking note cards and if you are taking the cards correctly. You need to know that to do an excellent job you will almost assuredly need more than the minimal 15 note cards worth of evidence. NOTE CARDS FROM RESEARCH REQUIRED: 15 NOTE CARDS FROM CITED RESEARCH: MOSTLY PARAPHRASED. NO MORE THAN 2 QUOTE CARDS PER RESEARCH DOCUMENT

THE PROCESS YOU SHOULD BE FOLLOWING: 1.Find a document containing information about your topic. 2.Use EASYBIB to create a MLA citation 3.Copy and paste the citation onto your works cited page 4.Save a copy of the actual research document: Sometimes there is a save or link Sometimes you will need to: a) block and copy the document b)Open “new” word document c)Paste into the word document d)Save this document on your drive under its parenthetical citation so you can print it off later or you can print it off at home. 5.Create note cards from the document: mostly paraphrase cards

WRITE YOUR NAME in the top corner of the blank index card provided. COPY down the information below onto the front of the card. PUT THE CARD ASIDE TILL THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF BLOCK.
