Source for each fact is cited on the handout in parentheses (1/2 pt each) _______/10 Bibliography with 4-6 sources using correct format _______/10

3 Citing Sources on Handout
Put the author’s last name in parentheses after the quote or paraphrase you used from their article (Thompson). If there is no author for the website, put the title for the website in parentheses (“Bibliography & Citing Sources”). Underline titles of books or websites Use “quotes” for article titles or titles of web pages DO THIS FOR EACH FACT!!!!

Purpose: tells your reader where to go on your bibliography to find more complete information. In parentheses at end it’s LESS DISTRACTING Only having the author’s last name or short version of website is also LESS DISTRACTING!

Create a bibliography of the sources you used for your handout using MLA style. Use the link on my website to help you: Find the “Creating a Bibliography” heading and follow the link

12 Practice with Newspaper Article
Pick an article to read in the newspaper (NO SPORTS!!!). It should relate to a potential controversial topic for your project. Do a correctly formatted bibliographic citation of the article at the top Write a summary of the article; include the 5 Ws + H (Who, What, Where, When, Why, How) Include one quotation from the article… be sure to include a correct citation in parentheses.
